A PONY
"A Pony" ©

My oldest son, he's one of a kind;
Can't tell him much, he's of his own mind.
He chose a path, He's made it a pledge;
A conscious decision, one called "Straight Edge".
His love is that of the performing arts;
In high school he's offered the best of parts.
He uses his knack to spread word to his peers;
"Choose your own way, don't give into your fears".
The message is clear, "Be nobodys' fool";
Smoking, Drinking, Drugs, They really aren't cool.
It's true that he's different, that's usually said;
You can always spot him, his hair's "Flaming red".
So, as a rule, he stands out in a crowd;
"Yep, that's my son!" of him I feel proud!
He stays after school, computers, of course;
Neither jock, nor nerd, just a student at Morse.
So that's my first son, I wish I could only;
Grant his desires, and get him a pony!

This poem is titled as such, because when people say: "I want..."; my son always responds with: "Yeah, well I want a pony!" Besides, how can you possibly work "SLINKSTER COOL" into a poem?
